GUIDANCE CONTROL DESIGN 9 RULE

Nine principles. One engineering mindset.

Our name—Guidance Control Design 9 Rule—is a statement of how we want to work: purposeful guidance, evidence-driven control, and thoughtful design.

EARLY-STAGE COMPANY PHILOSOPHY · DRAFT
THE G · C · D IDEA

What our name stands for.

Guidance, Control and Design are connected disciplines—not three separate slogans.

G
GUIDANCE

Choose the right direction.

Start from the mission, user needs and testable questions.

C
CONTROL

Keep decisions grounded.

Watch for uncertainty, failure paths and changing evidence.

D
DESIGN

Make knowledge dependable.

Build reviewable, secure and repeatable workflows.

GCD9 RULE
NINE PROPOSED DESIGN COMMITMENTS

An evidence-first way to build.

Organized into Guidance, Control and Design. Each principle includes an example of how it may shape our developing platform.

01 — 03 / GUIDANCE

Choose the direction.

01 / 09GUIDANCE

Mission First

Define mission intent, constraints and measurable outcomes before choosing technologies.

INTENDED PLATFORM PRACTICE

Frame research questions around explicit goals, requirements and validation criteria.

02 / 09GUIDANCE

Evidence Before Assumptions

Anchor technical claims in identifiable, authorized sources rather than confident guesses.

INTENDED PLATFORM PRACTICE

Link synthesized findings to source documents and their usage rights.

03 / 09GUIDANCE

Trace Every Decision

Preserve the assumptions, references and revisions behind important conclusions.

INTENDED PLATFORM PRACTICE

Retain research context, citations, corrections and review history.

04 — 06 / CONTROL

Stay aligned with reality.

04 / 09CONTROL

Quantify Uncertainty

Show limits, open questions and confidence levels instead of masking uncertainty.

INTENDED PLATFORM PRACTICE

Expose missing evidence, source conflict and confidence limitations.

05 / 09CONTROL

Design for Failure

Consider off-nominal conditions, edge cases and recoverable failure paths.

INTENDED PLATFORM PRACTICE

Test workflows against unavailable documents, weak retrieval and conflicting claims.

06 / 09CONTROL

Verify Continuously

Evaluate technical claims and system behavior throughout the lifecycle.

INTENDED PLATFORM PRACTICE

Use repeatable evaluation questions and checks as search and AI components evolve.

07 — 09 / DESIGN

Make the result trustworthy.

07 / 09DESIGN

Human Accountability

AI can support reasoning; qualified people remain responsible for engineering judgments.

INTENDED PLATFORM PRACTICE

Support human review, correction and explicit approval for consequential outputs.

08 / 09DESIGN

Security by Design

Protect confidential information, access boundaries, provenance and intellectual property.

INTENDED PLATFORM PRACTICE

Limit product corpora to open, properly licensed or customer-authorized materials.

09 / 09DESIGN

Learn and Improve

Use measurable outcomes, feedback and lessons learned to refine what we build.

INTENDED PLATFORM PRACTICE

Record errors and reviewer feedback to guide the next iteration.

These principles are an early, editable GCD9R philosophy—not a formal aerospace engineering standard or third-party certification.

THE STORY BEHIND GCD9R

We do not want an answer that only sounds right.

“Guide with purpose. Control with evidence. Design for trust.”

In aerospace engineering, a good design starts with a mission, remains aware of deviations and uncertainty, and earns trust through verification. That discipline inspires our name.

Technical knowledge work faces a similar problem: papers, standards and decisions accumulate, while the assumptions behind conclusions are easy to lose. GCD9R begins with a practical ambition to keep those connections visible.

AeroBase is our planned foundation for structured knowledge. AeroEvidence is being developed to connect questions to checkable sources and review history. AeroSecure represents a future option for environments with stricter data boundaries. We intend to apply the nine principles across all three product directions.

This statement describes our intended direction, not a claim of certified product performance or completed deployment.
OPEN FOR CONVERSATIONS
